The Good Earth has been an overpriced staple for Fairfax residents seeking organics for nearly 20 years. The entire town is buzzing with Good Earth chatter. I thought I would capture a few frames before it made it’s move to the new store. These photos were shot on Feb 13, it’s final day of business. The Good Earth is so much more then a grocery store…I don’t have the words for it but the FAX NEWs has it covered. The best part is, I saw this video and then ran into Roni taking a nature hike. I introduced myself and we had a good chat. Do yourself a favor and watch the vid.
This couple got me pretty excited. I am not big on fashion for myself but I love to see other people get into it. It doesn’t hurt that she is beautiful as well.
I had a Good Earth post all ready to go but when I got this roll back I knew it was go time. I went to the city last week on some solo photo adventures trying desperately to infuse myself with some hint of the Big Apple. After trying to park for a good half hour I decided to chance it in a two hour zone (knowing that i would be much longer). I parked just north of North Beach and headed towards Chinatown. I did not take my camera out of the bag for a good seven or eight blocks. It always takes me awhile to tap into the energy of a place. I just walked and looked at people. I stood on corners and watched the light change on their faces as they strolled across the street. I headed down the East side of Grant street and passed numerous trinket shops. I came across one and felt a large smile come across my face…Ah yes i had stumbled across the distant cousin of Ass Pants. (I did a post a few months ago about this very topic). I walked back and slowly took my camera out of the bag. I could feel the shop owner looking at me but I paid her no attention. I could not believe all the faces strewn across these jeans staring back at me. As I was focussing I saw a woman with her stroller come into the frame BAM! I fired the shutter. And with that I was off to the races.
