MATT PATTERSON PHOTOGRAPHY

I began taking pictures at the tender age of 15.  My brother borrowed a camera from our grandfather for a basic photo class in high school.  Let's just say I decided that I needed it more than him.  I continued my studies at SJSU where I earned a B.A. in Photography.  I learned at a young age that you should shoot what you know or a least what you want to know more about.  If the photographer is invested in his subject, it will come through in the final image.  For me, the camera has been  great at recording the events of my life: weddings, road trips, surf adventures, 30 days floating down the Colorado River, Bali, Australia, Europe, Central America, girlfriends, friends, strangers and skateboarders.  My camera has been there for all of it.
